This was the big scandal. Blondie got us booked on the Midnight Special...but then someone high up at NBC thought it was Chrysalis trying to pull a payola fast one by getting on National TV and then signing us. Of course it was just Jimmy and the Blondies trying to get us a break, but we weren't signed and that didn't sit well with the NBC execs. Someone there went to bat for us saying he would quit if they didn't let us play, so they fired him. The whole Blondie hosted show ended up getting cancelled because they wouldn't play without us...and Jimmy saying that he wouldn't play without us was duly recorded in an interview with Chris and Debbie where he called during the interview to say so. The worst part was having told everyone we knew we were going to be on the show and no one believing it. They ended up being right.
