This week was the peak. We opened for Iggy three times...once at Palladium and twice at My Father's Place. I remember backstage at MFP Jimmy Destri suggested that Iggy write a book with all of his experiences. Iggy answered "I'm just a singer man...not a writer, not a producer, not a filmstar...I'm not interested in all that...I just sing." He was giving Jimmy a little poke because Jimmy was producing us and trying to expand into other arenas...It was a little ironic though if you consider that it wasn't long before Iggy was in a movie and had written a book with his experiences!
The Midnight Special story got a little print, even though, in truth, Blondie did take a stand and got the boot.
I love how the reviewer put all the cat-calls in the review - "you suck!" "IGGY!" - ahhhh I remember it well!
